Model Homes On View At Air Force Village II

Housing starts may be slow in some sectors, but progress abounds at Air Force Village, where 18 new, ranch-style homes are under construction in The Gardens at AFV II. Three fully-furnished model homes are now open for viewing - featuring all the luxurious amenities that will be standard in these distinctive, modern homes.

The Gardens at AFV II are part of the $145 million Building on Success strategic redevelopment on both campuses that includes renovated lobbies, upgraded signage, bold new residence options, innovative apartment-style living for health care residents, exceptional dining venues and an urban village atmosphere with amenities that will make life at Air Force Village better for residents today and into the future.

Prospective residents may reserve an active retirement residence now as charter members of the stylish, urbane ranch homes thatare now under construction. Early decision-making offers multiple benefits to new residents that include options for selecting colors, flooring, carpets and other personalized touches. In addition, those who make a deposit before July 1, 2010, will avoid an increase in entrance fees that will go into effect on that date.

The Gardens at AFV II, built by custom homebuilder, Sitterle Homes, feature state-of-the-art security; modern kitchens with granite countertops, oak cabinets, stylish hardware and fixtures, gas cook tops and energy efficient appliances; two-car garages with automatic openers; professional landscaping that uses native trees and plants for natural beauty and water conservation; stone and stucco exteriors; luxurious foyers with tile flooring; plush carpeting and quality tile throughout; interior utility rooms; bathrooms with spacious walk-in closet, linen closet, wheelchair accessible shower, granite countertops and stylish hardware and fixtures; pre-wiring for satellite, cable, computer and medical monitoring; and green construction to protect the environment and provide optimum comfort to residents.

Air Force Village opened in 1970 with a service mission: to provide excellent retirement living with access to continuing health care for retired military commissioned and warrant officers and their spouses - and to give priority to retired Air Force officer widows in need of financial assistance. AFV is home to more than 1,200 retired and honorably separated military officers from all branches of U.S. military service, their spouses, widows, widowers and eligible dependents. The two separate AFV campuses are located on San Antonio's far west side near Wilford Hall Medical Center.
