If you're looking for a good investment that earns solid interest, supports a charity of your choice, and serves as a legacy after your death, you might be interested in a charitable gift annuity (CGA).
For the first time in 13 years, the American Council on Gift Annuities has approved an increase in gift annuity rates. Investors can lock in the new higher rates and guarantee a stream of income that is fixed for life, thus providing security for the future.
As an example of the new rates: If you are currently 75 years old and open a single life CGA today, you will earn 6.4% annually and receive quarterly distributions. And the 6.4% rate is locked in for life! On a $25,000 CGA, that's $400.00 every quarter.
Many AFV residents, families and retired military officers appreciate the opportunity to support charitable AFV causes, such as the fund for widows in need, through charitable gift annuities. The Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation can answer your questions and provide you with a chart that details the rates for ages 65+ and the different rates available to couples that wish to continue receiving quarterly distributions for a surviving spouse.
