Larry Garrison knew he wanted a kazoo band and women keeping rhythm in a drum line of pots, pans and tin-plate cymbals.

And from that point, the first-maybe-annual Fourth of July Parade at Air Force Village II took on a whimsical life of its own. The 25-minute procession Saturday had a variety of entries, including miniature horses and five retirees doing maneuvers on electric scooters, billing themselves as the Air Force "Tenderbirds" - a word play on the Thunderbirds aerobatic jet team.
