Who is eligible to live in the Villages?

At Village I, honorably separated and retired officers of all uniformed services, their spouses, widow(er)s and elderly family members, age 62 and better, are eligible.  At Village II,  retired officers  of all uniformed services, their spouses, widow(er)s, and elderly family members, age 62 and better. 

The term “officer” includes Regular, Reserve, Warrant, and National Guard officers.  It also includes retired commissioned officers of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Is there a minimum age requirement for a qualifying individual?

The minimum age for residency is 62 for single applicants (for couples, only one spouse need be 62). On an individual basis, exceptions may be considered by the Board of Trustees.

If I stay for two nights, what does it include?

You will stay in one of our guests rooms free. You are welcome to eat in the dining room, and pay for your meals. You are invited to participate in all Village activities and services while here.

What is the waiting time for a residence?

Waiting times depend on the type of tower apartment or garden home selected. At Village I, some residences may be available within 2 months, waiting times for most others are up to six months or longer. At Village II, some residences may be available within 6 months, while the waiting times for others may be as long as four years.

What type of security is there at the Villages?

Both Villages are gated communities. Security is provided 24 hours a day. At night, the security staff patrols the grounds. Also, each residence has an emergency call system connected to the front desk or Health Care Center for rapid response. Fire protection is provided throughout the residences with smoke detector alarms, and the tower apartment buildings also have sprinkler systems.

Many of our residents travel frequently and they often comment that they enjoy the peace of mind of knowing their homes are safe. In fact, some comment that with the weekly housekeeping service (which continues while residents are away), "it's like we never left - except the plants are larger!"
