SOCIAL: You will find an active social life where you can easily renew old friendships and make new ones. The monthly parties, cocktail hours, bridge games, dinners, holiday mixers, theme events and private functions bring residents together for amiable social interaction. Residents have formed groups of like-minded culture seekers who enjoy outings to the theater, opera, symphony, jazz, film, museums, art galleries and other venues - that abound in and around San Antonio. Village shuttles are a great way to travel to these events with friends and avoid traffic and parking hassles

RECREATIONAL: Join a cycling club, play a game of bridge, sign up for a tour of Hill Country wildflowers, board an AFV shuttle to one of myriad area shopping centers, cheer on the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, and visit Fiesta Texas, SeaWorld, the San Antonio Zoo and the many regional parks.

PHYSICAL: Join a cycling club or participate in a Pilates or Yoga class. Sign up for a physical assessment with a certified personal trainer who can help you with a program to increase strength, stamina, and overall physical health. Many group fitness classes are available.

INTELLECTUAL and VOCATIONAL: Take a computer class, attend a lecture (or give one in your area of expertise), and sign up for continuing education at any of the colleges, universities and school districts in the area. Our resident-run libraries provide many hours of intellectually-stimulating opportunities and the resident investment club meets monthly. Our very own artist cottage, wood hobby shop, and Village Voices provide you with many opportunities to explore your own talents and enjoy your neighbors'.

SPIRITUAL and EMOTIONAL: Air Force Villages offers ecumenical services at its beautiful campus chapels as well as at Freedom House, Liberty House and the Health Care Center. Residents may attend worship services in any of the communities within the Village or join a religious community outside the village. Active interfaith groups also meet for common purpose, study and community outreach.
